Emails still coming through now

Hiya,

My own website (http://www.mountgambierwebsitedesign.com.au/) is now having spam problems,

Wordpress 3.1
AVH F.D.A.S 3.1.2

General settings - ticked Show a message when the connection has been terminated and Use IP Caching

3rd party options settings - Check with Stop Forum Spam. The rest is set at the default settings and Project honeypot is not used.

I get an email sent to me since I have WP set up to send me an email when someone posts a new comment and hold it for moderation.

For example:

Now when I manually search Stop Forum Spam it has 166 entries for this IP address but the IP address wasn't marked as spam and these have appeared over several days so when this was posted to my website there were still lots of entries there.

I had the same problem on another site and updated the plugin and I thought that the problem had gone away but maybe the spammers have stopped targeting that website since the settings are the same. The only difference between the settings is that the other site is on WP 3.0 whereas my site is on WP 3.1.

Why isn't this kind of comment being picked up as spam?

When I add the IP address to the backlist then they are blocked but I'm getting so many spam comments a day that this is taking up a lot of time.

UPDATE: I checked the IP cache log and there are some IP addresses there but they are marked as ham.

Never mind I've switched to another plugin now since I couldn't be bothered to waste time with all the spam coming through.

Not sure why this plugin wasn't working for me.
