How do I remove 'category' from the URL? I've tried everything : S

Hi there,

I have this strange problem with AVH that only seems to happen on one of my sites. I'm praying that somebody has the solution for me.

On this page http://golf-in-texas.com/austin-golf-courses/ in the side widget I have inserted AVH. If you scroll over the URL you will see the word 'category' within the URL. How do I remove this? 

On all of my other sites (example here- http://roundofgolf.ca/canadian-golf-courses/best-ontario-golf-courses/toronto-golf-courses/) there is no issue with an 'category' being inserted into the URL.

Anyone?! It would be greatly appreciated.

Check your settings in the Permalink Settings section.

If the category base is empty it will use category in the URL. It might have a different setting in the http://roundofgolf.ca site,

Thank you for your quick reply Peter.

I have compared both of the sites permalink settings and they are the same. The category base is left blank. I have compared settings within the AVH Extended Categories Plugins, categories, permalinks etc.  I have also re installed the newest version of the plugin, still the same result. I'm baffled.

Any other ideas?

Any other plugins related to categories or permalinks?

Ah yes! That sparked another troubleshooting idea ...

I just cross references my other sites and I have installed Top Level Categories Plugin on them. I installed this on Golf-In-Texas.com now and it worked!
