Categories Group <---> Page

  Dear Peter:

This is a great job, thank you very much, it helps a lot.

I would like to suggest a very simple improvemets to the widget: as a default option, load the whole tree of categories tied to the current page. This way, channel concept that other blog engine has can be directly added through the usage of the plugin. Then, I would suggest it as default in the WP engine, I think is essential.

    Let me explain in detail:

BASIC IDEA

         a) Page <---> Categories Group : we already choose the group associated to each page.
         b) Widget : depending on the current page, load just the tree associated to the page.

WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL?

Being able to split the blog in several pages, sort of having different blogs

This is the exact same concept that channels has in other blog engines.

FOR WHAT?

Games Magazine (in the top menu)
        - Categories / Subcategories

Bike Magazine (in the top menu)
        - Categories / Subcategories

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

Clean integration with posting clients, such as Microsoft Live Writter

IMPLEMENTATION

Apparently is a small change in the widget, add a new option: dynamically set, which would be the default option.

Blogging clients only cares about posts and categories, if the manager, somehow, presents those things in diferent pages, should not interfere in the blogging client behaviur: send posts to the database with the proper categories / tags. It looks like nothing should be done here.

If this idea is included into your plugin, I think WP should consider to use this great plugin in the default WP engines, as a way to integrate the channels properties that other paid blogging engines has and claim to be teh greatest improvement from Wordpress.

Thank you for this great job,

César
